FLYING: Liverpool

Coat: Jane Norman, Jeans: Bershka, Boots: Newlook

Yesterday was my very last nightstop in Liverpool. Our airline stops flying to this wonderful destination, and I will miss it BIGTIME! {I would like a moment to cry quietly in a corner}. From all the destinations in the U.K., Liverpool was by far my favorite. I’m not bothered to nightstop in other U.K. destinations, but I truly loved Liverpool. So I am actually sad that we’re not flying there anymore. And because of that, I had to enjoy my last stop to the fullest. I spend the complete day outside. First I went out on my own for some quality time {e.g.: shopping}. After that, I went out with the first officer to see the cultural parts of Liverpool: we walked around in Albert’s dock, in the city itself and payed a visit during daytime to the Cavern Club. There was live music and it was so much fun. As a lovely ending of the day we had diner at Jamie Oliver’s italian restaurant. Oh nomnomnom.

What I loved about Liverpool? The vibe: our hotel is located in the harbor and has a beautiful view over the canal and the arena. We just have to cross the street to go to the shopping area of Liverpool, which is also pretty amazing if you ask me. Plenty of shops to visit: Zara, Mango, Gap, Primark, Topshop, Dorothy perkins etc etc. The city is HUGE! And besides that, you can have a lovely breakfast, lunch or diner in one of the many restaurants. My all time favorite is Jamie Oliver’s italian restaurant, and we had a lovely late lunch/early diner over there. I had the fried mushrooms as a starter and the tagliatella bolognese as a main course. Loved it! And if you’re not interested in shopping, don’t hesitate to pay a visit to the Cavern Club, the cradle of British pop music and the place where the Beatles musical identitiy was formed. And the cavern is not the only place you need to visit if you’re a Beatles fan: What do you think about Strawberry Fields, Penny Lane or you can just do the complete beatles tour.

And more reasons to visit Liverpool: it was the cultural capital of 2008. They made a major development and the city is nowadays so beautiful to see. You can have an amazing cultural day over there and include some quality shopping time. At night, the city is also full of life and has a major nightlive scene.

Buh baay liverpool. Was nice meeting ya.
